Robert Downey, Jr. is in negotiations to star in Gravity for director Alfonso Cuaron who wrote the script with his son Jonas Cuaron. The project would cast Downey as the leader of a team posted at a remote space station. When he and a female colleague are outside the space station, debris from an exploded satellite decimates the remainder of their team — and presumably the space station as well. Word was a couple of weeks back that Angelina Jolie was also going to be starring in this film, but so far nothing has been confirmed.
