Dwayne Johnson Offers Protection 26 Apr 10

Dwayne Johnson will star in the action-thriller Protection. The movie casts The Rock as a disgraced former Special Forces soldier who takes on a Mexican cartel in an attempt to rescue and protect a judge’s 21 year-old daughter, who has been targeted by the cartel for agreeing to testify against one of its members after she witnesses her father’s murder.
This is the latest in a long list of changes for the project. Paul Walker was originally attached to star with Simon West directing. Walker was replaced by Clive Owen and West was replaced by Patrick Alessandrin. Johnson now replaces Owen and word is that Patrick Alessandrin has dropped out as director. A replacement has not been announced.
