LOS ANGELES - "The Karate Kid" has won a 1980s showdown at the box office against "The A-Team."
The remake of 1984's "Karate Kid" debuted at No. 1 for the weekend with a whopping $56 million. The big-screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series "The A-Team" came in at under half that, opening in second-place with $26 million.
